Tales of the Dreamscape - Woman of his Dreams - Part 2

Part 1 is here.

Jack Numbskull sat on the rock outside the black fortress, held his head in his hands and stared glumly at the blue sky. His mother had been right after all, he had no idea where even to begin - the king of the giants? four rings that are five? what did any of it mean? No, he would have to go home a failure. What would his father think of him if he could see him now?
And just as he was sure he would never see Aurore’s smiling face again, he heard the magical sound of her singing rising over the hills.
He bounded up and raced towards her, his heart thundering inside his chest as he beheld her beauteous form.
“Jack,” she said, and offered up a small, shy smile.
“Aurore, my love,” he replied, “I was beginning to think I would never see your beauty again, for your father’s challenges are too much for me.”
“Oh Jack,” she answered, “do not fret - I will help you overcome all obstacles, for together surely nothing can stand against us.”
He grasped her delicate hand in his, and gently kissed it.
“You are as generous as you are radiant,” he said, and together they strode off towards Grayhome, the land of the giants.

Radiance 30 - The first of His works

This week's chapter marks the beginning of the 9th part of Radiance, Chochma/Wisdom. I'm not entirely happy with the shape that this is in at the moment, and I think it needs a lot more work than I was able to give it this week (as I was finishing my time on Noam camp). Hopefully the poem is just a placeholder and will be improved for the next iteration. Thanks for your patience.

22] ‘The Lord brought me forth as the first of His works, before His deeds of old;

23] I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be…

27] I was there when He set the heavens in place, when He marked out the horizon on the face of the deep,

28] when He established the clouds above and fixed securely the fountains of the deep,

29] when He gave the sea its boundary so that the waters would not overstep His command, and when He marked out the foundations of the earth.

30] Then I was constantly at His side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in His presence,

31] rejoicing in His whole world and delighting in the sons of man.
    -Proverbs 8

And while the earth shook around him, and the city trembled before the onslaught of the Leviathan, Asher strummed Layla’s nylon strings, letting the beating chords wash over him, filling his soul with their rhythm. And when the pattern struck him, the words tumbled out in their wake, shifting with the music as it cascaded over him like the rising tide.

Radiance 2 - My beloved is knocking

Chapter 2 of my kabbalistic fantasy novel, 'Radiance'. I'd love to hear comments on how to improve the music/song-writing of this chapter.

Two years earlier...

27 Tishrei 5773
Things were beginning to look up.
Asher had his own place and a new job. It was all starting to come together.
He smiled and sipped at his still hot coffee, fresh from the filter. And best of all he could work from home, for the hours that suited him best. Layla was calling to him from her stand in the corner. He picked her up and strummed a few chords. This was really going to be great, and no stupid arguments with his parents were going to change his mind. This was the future - no commute, no cubical, no bosses spying on him - and between calls he could do whatever he wanted. It was perfect.
    The phone rang.
His parents were wrong. This job was fantastic.
He set down Layla and answered the call as quickly possible.
“Midnight Astrological Hotline, what is your name and star sign?”
“Virgo,” answered a deep woman’s voice.
